When star conductor Leo Reitberger arrives at the festival with his newly married wife Agnes, a metaphysical surprise awaits him. The ghost of his ex-wife Elvira, who died four years ago at the festival, is sitting in their hotel suite. But since only Leo can see his transcendent ex-wife, who is eager to win him back, a passionate comedy unfolds that tests his relationship with Agnes and his tolerance for frustration.
